Report - Opening up, but to whom?

Too few psychologists for students in need

Nightline France is more than a listening service. Today, we are also carrying out actions to prevent, destigmatize, and challenge public authorities. Our goal is to improve the way student mental health is embraced in France.

Nightline France recently published its first report intended to challenge decision-makers on the lack of psychologists within university health Services. By using a common unit, the Full Time Worked Equivalent, we were able to highlight the inadequacy of the ratio of 1 university psychologist for around 30,000 students in France. The observation is clear: students are all too often left to their own devices, even though this is a population that is often psychologically fragile.

With the support of the Conference of University Presidents and other partners committed to student well-being, Nightline is bringing forward a series of recommendations to remedy this situation.
